The Lands of Sicilian Baroque: A UNESCO World Heritage Site and Light for the Soul.
From Plato to Montalbano. Our short tour is ideal for a long weekend or a three-day weekend: a perfectly balanced getaway among the wonders of Sicilian Baroque, to rejuvenate the senses and discover sumptuous art preserved in sun-drenched squares, amid prickly pears, mulberry granita, and views celebrated by everyone from Plato to Inspector Montalbano.
In the Heart of Sicily. More than just a themed itinerary, ours is a true immersion into the simplest and most evocative spirit of Sicily. The artistic and sentimental journey through the far south begins in Ortigia, the old city of Syracuse; then descends toward the poetic Val di Noto, following the outline of the dry-stone walls, the chorus of cicadas among the mulberry trees, and the evening return of boats to the small harbors on the horizon.
Art and Flavors. Next, we’ll visit the magnificent Ragusa Ibla, the true heart of the Baroque, which offers postcard-perfect views at every turn, from its spectacular church to the poetic charm of the small stone-carved balconies. We then head to another little gem, Modica, where art bursts forth in the narrow streets, on the facades of buildings, and on the domes—but also at the table, with its chocolate, which is among the most renowned in Italy.
Endless surprises. Here, even smaller towns—such as Caltagirone, with its famous ceramics—seem like a miracle of white stone, where the intense light of summer days creates a suspended, amber-hued atmosphere of almost dazzling purity.

This tour involves departure by plane. You will be able to leave from the airport of your choice, depending also on flight availability, and you will meet the rest of the group and chaperone directly at your destination.
You can make your travel experience even more personal by adding an extension of a few days at the beginning or end of the tour. We then always provide some optional excursions for an even more flexible experience.
At the start of the trip, the tour guide will collect the mandatory fee of €60 per person. This amount includes entrance fees to museums, monuments and any taxes to be paid locally. It should also be noted that gratuities for the driver and escort are not included; while not mandatory, they are appreciated as recognition for the quality of work performed.

In Syracuse, you can take part in an optional excursion on a traditional boat off the city’s coast to admire this Sicilian gem—including the island of Ortigia and its Baroque wonders—from a unique vantage point.

For tours departing on Christmas, New Year’s Day, and Epiphany, given the unique nature of these dates, the order of the visits may change even shortly before departure due to the closure of monuments and museums for the holidays.
This itinerary is quite physically demanding, because the historic centers of these cities are situated on hills and feature many steep streets and long stairways.
