Discover the little Venice of the Canary Islands
Writing or talking about Puerto de Mogan is a very simple matter as it is a lovely place. Puerto de Mogan, also called the “Little Venice,” was desired and designed in 1980 by Count Raphael Neville with the intention of achieving the best urbanization of all the Canary Islands. Its construction began in 1983 and work was completed in 1988.
The fact that we have a population of about 1,500, including tourists, makes life truly pleasant and relaxing. The average temperature is 22 degrees and there is very little rainfall; however, this does not affect the fact that we live at the mouth of one of the most fertile valleys in the Canary Islands, with many tropical fruit crops (such as mango, papaya, avocado, and oranges) and on a coastline where the sea’s fishiness allows local fishermen the abundant catch of many species (primarily swordfish ). The Port of Mogan consists of homogeneous apartments of different sizes and tastefully furnished. Staying in one of the port apartments is undoubtedly the best way to live in direct contact with one of the most striking and romantic places on the island of Gran Canaria.
