A region for cinephiles and adventurers

6 days discovering ancestral beauty and evocative atmospheres in a land to be discovered, visiting must-see places such as Matera, Metaponto, Melfi, Venosa and Caserta.

Discovering Basilicata. Culture, mystery, sea, mountains, taste: all this (and much more) is Basilicata, a kaleidoscope of pristine landscapes framing traces of a past that is still alive. A region often overlooked by mass tourism, reconciling a love of adventure with a love of art and inhabited villages with ghostly ones.

Movie beauties. There are so many reasons to choose it as a destination, starting with the suggestions generated by this disarming riot of beauty, which have made Matera and nearby Craco locations for countless film sets. To fall madly in love with this evocative place, the first glance is enough. Only in Matera can one find places capable of making one’s senses doubt like a mirage: the unique tangle of cave-houses, the opulent Baroque palaces and the many rock churches truly leave one speechless.

Spirituality and flavors. There are also other small towns of great character here, such as Venosa and Melfi, clinging to their lava soils, which give birth to one of the peninsula’s noblest wines, Aglianico. But before we conclude our journey we will go as far as the Charterhouse of San Lorenzo di Padula in Campania, one of the largest monasteries in Europe with an area of more than 50,000 square meters. When we return from this tour, we will have the impression that we have passed through a glorious past in a unique, intense and emotionally rich territory.
