All the best of Japan

15 days to fully immerse yourself in the authentic Japanese atmosphere, visiting must-see places such as Tokyo, Shizuoka, Kyoto, Nara, Kanazawa, Shirakawa-go, Takayama, Osaka, Hiroshima and Himeji.

Japanese snapshots. It always has a strange effect to think about Japan, you can’t focus on a specific point, a single image. Daydreaming we go from snapshots of elegant and mysterious women in kimonos, with hairstyles decorated with minute flowers and makeup that makes their faces inscrutable, and a moment later the snapshot fades and gives way to skyscrapers lit up in the darkness of night, colorful neon signs piling on top of each other, in a scenery that is entirely worthy of a science fiction movie.

Multiple souls. Japan is past, history, traditions that, although still living and perfectly blended with the present, are only one of the many aspects of this fascinating and mysterious country, always poised between past and future. And it is precisely the future that awaits us in glittering Tokyo, where strolling through the streets of Omotesando we will see incredible architectural structures housing high-fashion stores, while in Shinjuku, lost among skyscrapers that almost make the sky itself vanish, we will observe a landscape that combines avant-garde and minimalist curation.

Stories of humans and gods. Further south is Hiroshima, with its history and tragedy, a reminder of human folly, and just beyond, lulled by a small ferry, a Torii, a sacred portal, can be glimpsed that seems to float on the waters: it is the access to the Sacred Island of Miyajima, which humans are allowed to visit but destined to be inhabited only by the gods. At the time of leaving this country, it is hard to know whether it was all just a dream or whether there really is such a place, with its enchanted charm, never changing and yet perpetually evolving.
